Nothing happens when I tap the card
First scan the QR. If it opens your page, the card is set up. Then turn NFC on, remove the phone cover and hold the card flat at the right spot for 2 seconds.
Most tap problems are about the phone, not the card. Go through these three steps in order.
- Scan the QR code first. If the QR does not open your page either, the card is not set up yet. See Activate your card.
- Check your phone. Pick your phone type below for the exact spot and settings.
- Remove the cover. Thick covers, metal plates and ring holders block NFC. Hold the card flat and still for 2 seconds.
Still nothing? Try the card on another phone that has NFC. If it works there, the first phone has no NFC or NFC is off. If it fails on both phones, raise an enquiry below with a photo of the card and your phone model. We will check the card.
- Open Settings and search for NFC. Turn it on. On many phones it is under Connections or Connected devices.
- Unlock the phone and keep the screen on.
- Touch the card to the middle or upper part of the back of the phone.
- Hold it flat and still for 2 seconds.
Some budget Android phones have no NFC. Then the QR code is the way to use the card.
- iPhone 7 and newer read NFC automatically. No setting is needed.
- Unlock the phone.
- Touch the card to the top edge of the back of the phone, near the camera.
- Hold it flat and still for 2 seconds. A notification appears at the top. Tap it.
